Program Overview
Individual & Bundled Course Study
E-Learning 'Special Interest' Courses
The Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor, year long, 500 hour-program offers the student a full and diverse range of topics in Ayurveda. The AWC program covers topics such as Vedic philosophy, Ayurvedic nutrition, special bodywork techniques, home remedies, prevention of disease and much more. This AWC program in its Ayurvedic emphasis on diet and lifestyle can have a profoundly positive impact for those who practice this ancient science. Since many health professionals and lay-persons are interested in specific areas of Ayurveda, we at Kerala Ayurveda have made each of the courses in the AWC program available through the ‘Individual Course Study’ (ICS) program. This allows for the specialized and focused study on specific topics of interest. These courses are not only offered individually but are bundled into topic specific programs or can be customized into your own program to suit your needs. The courses are conveniently offered through our E-Learning system and can be taken at anytime, anywhere.
Each course contains video instruction, a course manual, study guide, the opportunity to test your knowledge with an interactive quiz and is available on our E-Learning system for a period of 30 days. A certificate of completion is granted at the end of the course.
The first course, Fundamentals of Ayurveda – An Introduction to Ayurveda is prerequisite to all other individual courses. This requirement serves to ensure that there is a foundational understanding for each of the other courses. If the student is interested in taking multiple individual courses, Fundamentals of Ayurveda is not required to be retaken. In special cases where the student has attended a course equivalent in an established Ayurvedic school, the course can be taken without the Fundamentals of Ayurveda prerequisite. The student must provide a school transcript outlining the courses attended that fulfill this prerequisite.
